Manse foundation repairs
Bill Newbold and Don Readel have been hard at work over at the manse.  One part of the foundation needed new mortar in the bricks so during this process there was a gaping hole in the foundation!  (Pictured are Gordon Webber and Michael Frosch doing repair work with Bill Newbold looking on.) The boards above this were rotted as well, and most of that wall needed to be replaced.   Always, one job leads to another, leads to another.  Those little jobs seem to blossom before your eyes into huge projects!  It, of course, helped when an electrical line and a water pipe were both accidentally cut.   Bill was holding the saw at the time but makes no claims to this event!   He was very concerned about his brand new saw!

The chimney is scheduled to be recapped by a professional and there are several other little jobs that are going to get done somehow.  The shutters need to be painted.  We were pondering perhaps having a painting party at the manse to get the most done that we can.   Watch for dates and times, we will set things up in the garage and this will allow people to work on their own schedules.    The more people that show up to help, the less work for each to do! 

Joe Desharnais has been very busy working for us.  After painting the manse, he came and painted the north side of the church.  The buildings look so much better since he has scraped, primed and painted!  What a difference!  Fresh and new for the spring, just waiting for the flowers to bloom.  Thank you to all, especially Bill Newbold.  We really do appreciate the hours and hours of hard work,  headaches endured, and elevated blood pressures devoted to the betterment of our grounds!
